470 Amateur Radio Group

Of East Tennessee

Welcome to the 470 ARG of East Tennessee Website. The group was started at the Ten Tec Hamfest in 2007 by 15 amateur radio operators, to meet once a week, on the air, to check on each other, and enjoy the Fellowship between them, since then the group has grown to over a 1000 plus members, with as high as 127 check ins in one evening. Then net went from less than an hour to 3 1/2 hours plus, with the addition of invocation by our group Chaplin with prayer request taken, then check ins from amateur radio operators, then to the 1st Trivia Challenge that lasts for about an hour plus at times, the to a round table discussion, relating to amateur radio, passing along related information on new modes, operation, and helping other amateur radio operators with questions they may have or comments in amateur radio. The group started on the 145.470 repeater of Tim Berry, WB4GBI, and has been its home from the beginning to now, and into the future. Mr Berry's repeaters are family friendly, and open to all emergency clubs, ARES & RACES groups, and general use by all licensed amateur radio operators to use. After 11 years on the air many new things have been added to the net, we have gone from a local net & group to a World Wide Net, thanks to KE0KEY James, with Global DX System's. This has included other modes of operation as Echolink, Allstar, DMR, Fusion and YSF incorporated into the net. You can also join us on our Facebook Social Media Page At:
